New Live in Lou website creates state-of-the-art resources for talent attraction

Louisville, Ky. (July 7, 2025) – The region’s nationally-recognized talent attraction initiative, Live in Lou, has a new look and website. The new site includes a brand refresh as well as innovative features that promote Greater Louisville to prospective talent. New and improved resources include updates to the functionality of the region’s largest local-only job board through the addition of artificial intelligence capabilities to match candidates to jobs, new ways to connect with trained City Champs ambassadors, and updated resources for employers to use to recruit out-of-market talent.

Live in Lou was created by Greater Louisville Inc. in 2016 as a storytelling tool for selling the region’s quality of life assets. Since then, Live in Lou has grown its reach with more than 77,000 organic followers across four social media platforms and supports four full-time staff members who create original content, partner with businesses and community members on storytelling, share resources with higher education partners and businesses, help connect individuals with upskilling resources, and execute digital marketing campaigns.

GLI uses the Live in Lou platform to proactively sell the region to out-of-market talent through targeted digital advertising, and also encourages employers to utilize a plethora of free resources to help sell relocating job candidates on the region’s the quality-of-life assets. The Live in Lou team also executes private label talent attraction campaigns for local organizations to promote open jobs to individuals from outside Greater Louisville with the appropriate skillset.

“Over the last nine years, Live in Lou has grown to be a widely successful platform to share what makes Greater Louisville a unique place to live, work, and play. Not only has it helped grow the region’s population and solve individual employers talent needs, but we have also seen other chambers and economic development organizations replicate our model,” said Sarah Davasher-Wisdom, president and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. “This new site will help accelerate our talent attraction work, giving job seekers and employers more tools to connect, and giving our team a top-tier storytelling tool that drives our digital marketing campaigns.”

The new site is divided into five categories: live, work, play, learn, and jobs. Each category has several pages of information, links, and resources to illustrate the opportunities available in Greater Louisville. The jobs section is home to the Live in Lou job board which compiles job postings from within the region, allows employers to submit verified postings, and provides job matching capabilities to help candidates find jobs that match their skillsets.

The revamp of the Live in Lou website is part of GLI’s Prosper 2030 plan, which has an ambitious goal of growing the working age population by 41,000 over the next five years. The new site was made possible through generous grant funding from the Gheens Foundation and the James Graham Brown Foundation. Creative assets and design were produced in partnership with GLI’s internal marketing team and New Albany-based An Agency, and web development was completed by Honeywick.

“As communication technologies advance rapidly it is absolutely critical that GLI’s digital story-telling tool be on the cutting edge to fulfill effectively its mission to sell the world on what makes Greater Louisville a unique place to live, work, and play,” said Barry Allen, president and CEO of the Gheens Foundation, Inc.

The new Live in Lou website will serve as the landing page for several upcoming digital and grass roots talent attraction campaigns in 2025 and 2026, including a boomerang campaign focused on bringing former Louisvillians back to the region, and an influencer campaign.
