Site Selection names Louisville as a top metro in 2025

For the second consecutive year, Site Selection Magazine has named Louisville to its Top 10 Tier-1 Metros by Project Per Capita, highlighting the region’s continued growth and competitiveness. Site Selection is the leading publication on corporate real estate, facility planning, location analysis, and foreign direct investment.

Louisville ranked sixth overall among Tier-1 metros, a category that includes metropolitan areas with populations above one million. The ranking evaluates a range of factors such as wages, job growth, high-tech GDP, broadband access, housing affordability, and economic inequality. In 2025, Louisville topped peer cities like Columbus, Indianapolis, and Charlotte in the national rankings. The region also earned a seventh-place ranking in the publication’s Top Metro Project Rankings for the East North Central Region in 2025.

“Louisville continues to prove that we can compete on the national stage. These national recognitions are important, but even more impactful is the real results we are bringing to the Louisville community,” said Trevor Pawl, CEO of One Louisville. “This is just the beginning, and I am excited to bring even more projects, jobs, people, and opportunity to the region in 2026.”

In 2025, 43 new projects were located in Louisville representing $3.02 billion in new capital investment and 2,700 new jobs created. One Louisville remains focused on creating quality, high-paying jobs. Last year, average industry project wages increased 24 percent compared to 2024.
